▪️ Hi Sergio, thank you for your time. To begin, could you briefly tell us about your professional experience over the last few years?

Before joining Magna, I had various experiences working on projects from the design phase, through budget analysis, execution, and even after-sales and maintenance. I began working with Magna over six years ago, specifically to coordinate after-sales, but I soon became part of the production team. During this time, I have participated in the execution of several projects in Spain and Portugal.

▪️ What are your current responsibilities at Magna?

I am the Group Manager for Portugal, coordinating the Site Managers and providing them with full support to enhance their training based on my own experience as a Site Manager, as well as ensuring communication with our clients to achieve our shared objectives.

How would you describe the company’s growth in Portugal in recent years?

Growth has been both progressive and exponential.

If I compare my first projects with those we are currently undertaking, I can confirm that we have improved significantly, not only in size but also in quality. I believe we can equate the company’s growth with the growth of our staff, which has allowed us to tackle these more complex projects.

▪️ What differentiates your industrial and logistics warehouse projects from those of the competition in the Portuguese market?

On the one hand, in the initial study and design phase, we have highly experienced personnel in this sector, applying this experience to achieve continuous improvement. Furthermore, during the execution phase, thanks to our accumulated experience, we are able to control the progress of the work using the procedures we have established.

▪️ Which do you consider to be the most emblematic project you have completed in Portugal and why?

All of them have presented great challenges, both the larger and smaller ones. I would say the most emblematic is the one in Benavente, since it’s a project where we’ve achieved all our objectives and it’s become a model to rely on for other projects that have come after.

▪️ What role do innovation and technology play in the construction of your ships?

In this sector, it’s sometimes difficult to innovate, since there are very standardized processes and solutions. However, Magna is always updating its regulations and solutions for application in our projects, such as the environmental certifications that have become part of all our projects in recent years (LEED / BREEAM).

▪️ How do you value the role of experience and local know-how in the successful execution of your projects?

This is one of Magna’s strengths, and one of the reasons for our growth in Portugal. It is necessary to maintain this idea and continue gaining experience in current projects to guarantee this success in the future.

▪️ In your opinion, what is the greatest strength of the team you lead?

At Magna, we place great importance on teamwork, as we understand that it is the only way to achieve the results we aim for. We achieve this by ensuring the best possible communication among team members and listening to each person’s ideas, reaching a consensus on the strategy needed for each challenge we face daily.

▪️ How important is the ongoing training and professional development of your teams to you? It’s one of the
