Magna is hiring an Environmental Technician to join the construction team in Portugal, ensuring the environmental monitoring of projects and compliance with legal and contractual requirements, as well as environmental best practices applicable to the construction sector.

This role will play a fundamental part in implementing environmental measures on-site, promoting sustainable practices and minimizing the impact of construction activities.

Key Responsibilities:

– Daily environmental monitoring of on-site work;
– Ensuring compliance with applicable environmental legislation;
– Implementation and monitoring of Environmental Management Plans;
– Monitoring of environmental measures defined for the project;
– Control of waste management, including segregation, storage, and documentation;
– Monitoring of potential environmental impacts, such as noise, emissions, spills, and other environmental aspects;
– Preparation of environmental reports and monitoring records;
– Document control related to environmental requirements, licenses, and authorizations;
– Coordination with Construction Departments, foremen, and subcontractors on environmental matters;
– Conducting environmental awareness actions with construction teams.

Requirements:

– Higher education in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or similar fields;
– Minimum of 2 years of experience in similar roles, preferably within a site/construction context;
– Knowledge of applicable environmental legislation in Portugal;
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools;
– Ability to organize, autonomy, and ability to work in a site environment;
– Good communication and relationship skills with different teams.
