ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIAN FOR PORTUGAL

Magna is hiring an Environmental Technician to join our construction team in Portugal. This professional will ensure the environmental monitoring of projects, compliance with legal and contractual requirements, and the implementation of environmental best practices applicable to the construction sector.

This position will play a fundamental role in implementing environmental measures on site, promoting sustainable practices, and minimizing the impact of construction activities.

Key responsibilities:

– Daily environmental monitoring of on-site work;
– Ensuring compliance with applicable environmental legislation;
– Implementation and monitoring of Environmental Management Plans;
– Tracking the environmental measures defined for the project;
– Control of waste management, including segregation, storage, and documentation;
– Monitoring potential environmental impacts, such as noise, emissions, spills, and other environmental aspects;
– Preparation of environmental reports and monitoring records;
– Document control related to environmental requirements, licenses, and permits;
– Coordination with Construction Departments, foremen, and subcontractors on environmental matters;
– Conducting environmental awareness sessions with the construction teams.

Requirements:

– Higher education degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or similar fields;
– Minimum of 2 years of experience in similar roles, preferably within a work/construction site environment;
– Knowledge of environmental legislation applicable in Portugal;
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools;
– Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and ability to work in a construction environment;
– Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with different teams.

– Experience in the environmental monitoring of subcontractors;
– Knowledge of waste management within the construction context;
– Knowledge of Spanish and/or English.
